Job description

As a key member of the Mountain States Steel team, you will work with a team of shop production professionals. This position requires laying out and fitting fabricated components to assemble structural buildings and bridge girders according to blueprints and knowledge of welding.
o Select equipment, plan layout, assembly, and weld.
o Apply knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and other welding techniques.
o Layout position, align and fit components together.
o Bolt, clamp, tack, and weld parts to secure position for welding.
o Position may require product repair by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts by using a cutting torch, straightening press and hand tools.
o Must have structural steel fitting experience.
o Must have the ability to read structural steel blueprint drawings and weld symbols.

1G or 3G
1" vertical
7" long
1/4 " root opening
1/16 flux core (hot) inner/dual shield
