Position: Security Analyst (5+ years' experience)

Duration: 4 months with the opportunity to extend; potential for extension up to 1 year (review for extension typically at mid-year point)

Location: Anchorage, AK (hybrid); expected on-site presence once or twice a week, potentially less. Must reside in AK for on-site requirements.

Rate: $60-65/hr on W2

Job Description:

The Security Analyst will primarily focus on developing a robust cybersecurity Incident Response Plan (IRP). The IRP is instrumental in establishing a structured and systematic approach to detect, respond to, and mitigate security incidents effectively within our organization. Key components of the IRP include timely detection, effective response, impact mitigation, regulatory compliance, evidence preservation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

- Define access privileges and control structures to protect systems.

- Review security logs to identify abnormalities and report violations.

- Assess current infrastructure, evaluate trends, and anticipate security requirements to implement improvements.

- Conduct periodic audits to identify security violations and inefficiencies.

- Implement and maintain security controls to upgrade systems.

- Prepare performance reports and communicate system status effectively.

- Design, test, and implement security systems.

- Provide insights on current security threats and develop countermeasures.

- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

- Review security policies and propose recommendations for enhancements.

- Develop security policies tailored to the organization's specific needs or regulatory requirements.
