Boiler Operator/WWTP Operator

Job Summary:Boiler Operator maintains boilers to ensure safe and proper operations of all steam systems. WWTP Shift Operator ensures the daily operation of facility, maintains system in accordance with standards.
 Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure optimal and continuous operation of steam distribution systems.

• Performing routine inspections and maintenance, monitoring equipment and adjusting as necessary.

• Ensure safety by monitoring equipment, identifying potential issues and taking appropriate steps to suspend operations and repair the problem.

• Create and enter properly documented records of inspections, maintenance routines and repairs.

• Ability to handle 55 gallons drums on daily basis, to supply needs of factory.

• Perform all aspects of operations and maintenance of a Grade 4 Industrial Treatment Plant as a backup shift operator.

• At prescribed intervals use special laboratory equipment to perform a variety tests.

• Check sample solutions from plating department and determine amounts of chemicals to be added to restore solutions to proper strength.

• Be alert to detect any malfunctions in the system and initiate procedures to return the system to normal operation.

• Perform a variety of plumbing duties to make necessary repairs to the system, replace or add new equipment.

• Perform all assignments in conformance with all safety and health requirements.

• Keep and maintain accurate daily records of operations and maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Basic chemistry and laboratory knowledge desirable.

• Good math skills are critical.

• Ability to move heavy materials on a daily basis.

• Ability to be forklift certified.
