Job Summary

The Steam and Hot Water Boiler Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various types of steam and hot water boilers and associated systems. This role requires a strong understanding of boiler operation, safety protocols, and diagnostic techniques to ensure optimal performance and compliance. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on steam and hot water boilers, including inspections, cleaning, and testing.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot boiler malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective repair solutions.
  • Execute repairs and replacements of boiler components such as burners, controls, pumps, valves, and piping.
  • Conduct boiler start-ups and shut-downs, ensuring proper sequence and safety procedures are followed.
  • Install new boiler systems and associated auxiliary equipment according to specifications and local codes.
  • Perform combustion analysis and make necessary adjustments for optimal efficiency and emissions.
  • Maintain accurate service records, including detailed descriptions of work performed, parts used, and recommendations.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Provide clear and concise communication with clients regarding service issues, repair options, and system status.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate's degree in HVAC, mechanical, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of [5] years of experience servicing and repairing steam and hot water boilers.
  • Current and valid [relevant certifications, e.g., Boiler Operator's License, EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification, OSHA 10/30] are preferred.
