Optimum Health Institute is a healing ministry of the Free Sacred Trinity Church, which promotes. Healing through the use of non-medical, all – natural, holistic healing practices. As a healing ministry, it provides two holistic healing centers in central Texas and southern California. People of all spiritual traditions are welcome at OHI Austin or OHI San Diego to participate in our holistic healing program that emphasizes physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

SUMMARY:

Ensure that the body, mind and spiritual curriculum of the Free Scared Trinity Church is professionally delivered at the OHI San Diego or Austin Mission. Facilitate the OHI program to guests and adherents in a professional and caring manner in support of the Church program and in adherence with the Church's Mission, Core Values, Guiding Principles (MVPs), Disciplines of Stewardship (DOS) and Spiritual Identity. Support guests with a holistic approach of mind, body, and spiritual wellbeing. Demonstrate leadership in all facets of guest contact and interaction including responsibilities managing and guiding the Missionmy Program, and contributing to the In-House Stayover Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership:

  • Communicates, adheres to and models the organization's Church's Mission, Core Values, Guiding Principles (MVPs), Disciplines of Stewardship (DOS) and Spiritual Identity, and ensures staff does the same.
  • Provides guidance to other Facilitators/team members in instructing the OHI Program curriculum.
  • Sets the precedence for excellence through leading by example.
  • Communicates Missionary performance expectations and regularly reviews results.

Facilitation:

  • Study and become skilled at teaching all levels of the body, mind and spiritual curriculum (levels I, II & III) to OHI guests within a 24 month period.
  • Conduct classroom instruction to professionally deliver the OHI program to guests and adherents.

Communication/Customer Service:

  • Ensures that ongoing and effective communication to the Mission's guests and adherents is maintained.
  • Counsels and communicates honestly and sincerely with staff, guests, adherents, and inquiring visitors.
  • Is responsive at all times to the needs of guests and adherents.
  • Holds guest appointments and interacts with guests, other team members, and adherents.
  • Prepares classroom and materials for each day's classes.
  • Anticipates training needs of guests and adherents and plans classroom instruction accordingly.
  • Assembles and reviews program evaluations and makes recommendations for improvements to design new delivery methods, course content and program materials based on feedback.
  • Responsible for the ordering and replenishing supplies and materials, and other administrative duties as needed.

:

  • Performs on-going research of evolving techniques for teaching all levels of the body, mind and spirit curriculum (levels I, II & III) to OH! guests.
  • Gains knowledge and information by researching new developments in the field of mind/body/spirit healing; shares findings with colleagues.
  • Creates or assists in the development of class content as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Manages Missionaries and assists the Chief Executive Officer in managing Facilitators.
  • Participates in the I House Stayover Program.

PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AND PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED

LAY MINISTER DUTIES:

Performs certain limited duties within the scope of Ministerial duties assigned by the Ecclesiastical Superior of th Free Sacred Trinity Church. See attached Ministerial Rider.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Weekends and evenings are required.
  • Flexible availability to be scheduled any day of the year, between the hours of7:00 am and 8:30pm any day of the week; and work overtime when needed, including more than a five (5) day work week. (see Facilitator Scheduling, Duties, Travel and Instruction Notice).
  • Occasional travel to either San Diego, California or Austin, Texas missions.
  • Must be energetic and have the stamina to conduct stand-up classroom training.
  • May be required to teach classes four to six hours a day, meet with guest, and perform administrative duties and other projects in an eight to nine hour day.

Supervisory Responsibilities: When assigned, assists the Chief Executive Officer in supervising Contractors, Missionaries and/or Facilitator I or II personnel.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Required Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in the fields of education, psychology, social work, ministry, counseling, holistic health, nutrition, nursing or a related field.

Required Expe1·ience: Three years minimum in formal classroom training of adults, including instructional design experience. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning the01y and application.

Preferred Experience: Previous employment with a faith-based or non-profit organization. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and application. Knowledge of body systems, basic health care or physiology including caring for physical problems and core dietaty functions. Pastoral counseling or previous general counseling experience. Management of educational programs and/or ministry experience. Training in Theology and Spiritual Direction, experience in classes or programs in holistic training and dietmy functions. Holistic training through academic training and self-study a plus, including meditation.

Computer Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including use Word, Excel and Power Point.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
