Job Description

The Paralegal will assist the General Counsel by providing commercial legal support including managing, drafting and reviewing real estate, construction, vendor and customer agreements and related documents; filings; correspondence; contract management ; research, investigations, and fact checking

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong understanding of legal terminology including real estate, and construction verbiage
  • Assist in drafting, revising, and assembling contracts and legal documents
  • Assist in contract negotiations with, buyers, sellers, contractors, title companies and vendors.
  • Coordinate with internal clients to obtain information and documents
  • Summarize contracts and prepare reports for the General Counsel; provide detailed contract interpretation to internal teams on various issues
  • Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves contracts and legal documentation
  • Provide legal information for prequalification applications and proposals
  • Draft, track, and process owner contracts, GMP agreements, and principle designer agreements from proposal through execution and distribution
  • Keeping track of changes in legal framework and providing timely updates on these changes
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in paralegal studies or related field OR 5+ years’ experience in construction management, engineering, real estate, corporate, data centers or construction legal support
  • Paralegal certificate required
  • Data Center experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES

  • Must have thorough knowledge of MS Office.  Document management software experience helpful.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information in a sensitive and professional manner, required
  • Experience with factual research, document analysis, filings, drafting documents,
  • Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods
  • Interact professionally with all levels of the organization, required
  • Manage changing needs and priorities accurately and professionally, required
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, required particularly with drafting and proofreading
  • Ability to work independently and carefully carryout instructions
  • Willingness to provide support outside of standard business hours, required
  • Someone who is comfortable with ambiguity and can juggle many competing priorities at once, preferred
  • Someone who is resourceful, conscientious, and takes personal pride in their work, preferred
