We are seeking an Operations Manager with a strong engineering and technical background preferably in a manufacturing setting. Experience with developing team supervisors and leading Continuous Improvement Projects.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Operations Manager is responsible for delivering a highly productive, efficient safe operation that produces products the right first time at the target cost. They are personally responsible for leading change to deliver continued improvement and finding better ways to run their operation. This role manages all functional areas in meeting production requirements and ensuring that all necessary factors of production (ingredients, materials, and labor) and maintenance are performed as required to deliver product availability. They lead all functional areas in meeting quality and sanitation specifications and standards and understand and communicate Bakery objectives and strategies through a through understanding of the operational budgeting, forecasting, and general business finance. They are responsible for driving employee engagement to ensure 100% of all employees are engaged and contributing to their fullest.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Oversee and improve the execution of the Bakery Operation across all shifts. Provide coaching and direction to the supervisors and leads to continual improve the performance of his/her operation.
• Develop and lead the Maintenance Manager on project management delivering loss elimination projects.
• Lead the Maintenance team on executing PM's and RCA's to ensure our equipment is performing at top notch.
• Set and manage expectations with regard to safety, sanitation, quality, productivity, and operating standards for your operation.
• Coach, assist and develop supervisors and other managers in meeting both the Operational goals and performance expectations for the Bakery.
• Ensure safe working conditions across your operation.
• Focus the energy and creativity of your organization towards delivering a performance driven culture with expectations to deliver cost, service, safety and quality targets.
• Participate in the development of long term financial and operational strategies in support of overall Bakery goals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Experience in Leading Operations to achieve financial targets through Operational Excellence
• Ability to build and develop teamwork in a multi functional group
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously with numerous interruptions
• Effective communication and listening skills
• Must be self-motivated
• Flow to work as needed which at times might require extended hours or work on weekends
• Must have good problem solving and recognition skills and be able to react quickly to dynamic business conditions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering but not required
• Operations and/or Leadership Management experience in a consumer product environment, bakery experience preferred

ORGANIZATION FIT:

• Position reports to the Bakery Plant Manager
• Supervisors and Maintenance Manager report to this position

SUCCESS FACTORS:

• Demonstrated ability to drive improvement in Manufacturing Operations through solid Loss Elimination programs
• Ability to lead change effectively.
• Computer Proficiency in Microsoft including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
• Effective problem solving skills
• Excellent coaching and communication skills
• Develop and maintain working relationships with all levels of plant and corporate management in Engineering, Production Management, Logistics, Human Resources and Finance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Requires extended time on the production floor during production and sanitation operations
• This environment includes dust, noise, wet floors, climbing ladders and potentially slippery conditions

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential job functions in a managerial/supervisory/technical/office capacity within a manufacturing environment.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and noise levels and temperature fluctuations.

SQF REQUIREMENTS:

• Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system
• Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring
• Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits
• During absences temporary coverage for this position will be determined by plant management.

Salary Range DOE: $90,000 - $130,000 (DOE) with %15 Bonus Based on Company Annual Performance.
