Dietary Cook - DeSoto Day Shift Part-Time

Pony Bird is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our team to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities.

STARTING PAY OF $19.00 PER HOUR PLUS DIFFERENTIALS

WEEKEND SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL $2.00 PER HOUR

What does a Dietary Cook do?

• Provide quality meal preparation, service and delivery
• Process and prepare food according to each individuals dietary guidelines
• Perform a variety of routine kitchen duties
• Operate kitchen equipment
• Dishwashing
• General cleaning
• Adhere to federal, state, and local guidelines for safe and sanitary food handling, preparation, service and storage
• Serve as a positive role model
• Team-player who can also work independently
• Maintain attendance according to the policy of the agency and position

Schedule:

• Day Shift 6:45am - 3:15pm *Required to work every other weekend
• DeSoto

Qualifications:

• Experience with modified diets preferred (puree, ground, bite-size)
• High School diploma or GED
• Interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to follow oral and written directions and problem solve
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to be flexible to provide the needs of the individuals served
• General supervision will be provided by the Dietary Supervisor, but the employee must have the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
