SUMMARY
Looking for three (2) excellent, exciting teachers who love to teach, Mathematics, and Science in a Pre-Freshman Engineering Summer Program and a Young Scholars Environmental Summer Camp. I am looking for three (3) teachers to teach Earth Science, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Introduction to Drones in a Pre-College Summer Program. Teachers are charged with ensuring that students in their classes have a challenging and academically rigorous summer experience, while also making learning incredibly fun. We see teaching in the summer as an opportunity for teachers to innovate and experiment; there is no strict curriculum to which teachers must adhere (outside of following the general guidance provided by the course description). Project-based, hands-on, authentic teaming experiences are encouraged, and teachers should be prepared to lead students through an intensive and highly engaging exploration of their chosen content.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following and other duties that may be assigned:
Demonstrated experience and success in a collaborative teaching environment
Experience teaching grades 1-6 and 7-10 (more than 3 years of teaching experience preferred) and pre-college/college students
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring the ability to take direction and the readiness to problem-solve.
Appreciation of the mission and culture of independent, residential, college-preparatory schools.
Exceptional communication skills (speaking and writing)
Exceptional interpersonal skills

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or master's degree from a four-year college or university, or certified teaching certificate for grades K-12, or least five years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. For the Drone program, you must have a Ph.D. and have taught in a college or university setting or experience in your respective area. Additionally, a pleasing personality ability to work with others; class management skills; and planning and implantation skills.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Fluent in, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, SharePoint) Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms) Spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets, OpenOffice Calculations) Email (mail merge, filters, folders,) Presentations/Slideshows (PowerPoint, Google Slides, OpenOffice Impress, Tableau resume) Blog and soft and hardware skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must maintain confidentiality in all work performed. Must be flexible in work schedule. Must be willing to work evenings or weekends for special events, report preparation, or proposal deadlines.
