Summary of Position
Teaches a wide range of mathematics and statistics courses, which may include elementary, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate statistics, college algebra, quantitative reasoning, calculus, or other advanced mathematics and statistics courses.
Participates in Department, College and University service activities, community engagement, and outreach.
Develops and delivers face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction in mathematics and statistics.
Coordinates co-requisite and/or service courses in the Department and works with faculty and staff on initiatives to improve student success in mathematics and statistics courses.
Interacts effectively with students and faculty and contributes to the success of the Department. Mentors graduate teaching assistants in their course assignments.
Position Information
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Qualifications and Competencies
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None.
Minimum Qualifications: At least a master's degree in statistics, mathematics, or applied mathematics by the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years of demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching; Demonstrated ability to teach a wide range of courses in statistics and mathematics; Experience teaching statistics courses; Knowledge of WebAssign, MyLabsPlus/MyMathLab and Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces (ALEKS).
Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.
Sedentary: work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria are met.
