Job description

Position Information
OVERVIEW: Bismarck State College is dedicated to student success. This on-campus position is student-centered to provide high-quality campus services and hands-on learning experiences.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Opportunities exist for part-time, non-benefited instructors to teach college-level on-campus Mathematics classes.
Other responsibilities include submitting grades by the established deadlines and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean and/or Dean of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, or a similar degree, or a master's degree with at least 15 graduate credits in mathematics, statistics, or a similar degree, or a combination of education and equivalent experiences to be reviewed with the application.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Good computer software skills - Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, etc., electronic calendar and Email, and strong Internet familiarity.

Preferred:
  • College teaching experience.
  • Experience with Blackboard Learning Management System.
  • Experience with non-traditional teaching methods such as facilitating group work, use of inquiry-based and other active learning, pedagogies, and/or contextualized instruction.
