Summary of Position
This position is responsible for teaching pharmacology to nurse anesthetist students in a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program at Youngstown State University. The qualified part-time instructor will teach advanced principles of pharmacology including drug effectiveness, mechanism of action, and drug interaction, including anesthesia gases, in the practice of anesthesia. The candidate will be responsible for conducting didactic teaching for three hours one day per week on Youngstown State University's campus or at the anesthesia school located at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, both located on Youngtown's north side.

Qualifications and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications: At least a Pharm.D, or a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology or related field. Qualified physicians, pharmacists, scientists, or nurse anesthetists will also be considered. Excellent communication skills are required. Salary will be determined by credentials. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.
Sedentary: work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other Sedentary criteria aremet.
