Senior Designer

SUMMARY

The designer is responsible for generating 3-D models in solids work which will be used to generate drawings for engineering, fabrication, welding, assembly, construction, plan check, and the owners of the towers.    High quality designs result in high quality towers. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Utilize engineering design software such as Solidworks and AutoCAD to use existing or create 3-D drawings of poles, towers, guy towers, tower trailers, and crank up towers.

·         Generate drawings which conform to ASME/ANSI Y14 and file drawings.  These drawings will be used by the engineer to seal plans, fabrication, welding, assembly department, construction crew, plan checker, customers, and others.   The design must produce a large volume of drawings.

·         Generate Bill of Materials (BOM), part numbers, shipping lists, drawings numbers,  and purchase orders.

·         Knowledge of materials, civil engineering, manufacturing including machining, electrical, hydraulics, welding, structures, quality control, and construction. 

·         Responsible for operation manuals.

·         Create 2-D drawing for tower engineering feasibility studies and marketing.  

·         Create program files for CNC machines, DXF, step.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Work with engineers, management, fabricators, welders, assembly, construction crew, plan checkers, vendors, and quality control.

·         Works with management on product design.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS include the following.

Experience with 3-D designs, should be interested in designing career, math skills, drafting knowledge, and able to produce high quality drawings in large volume. 

Able to work overtime, writing skills, geometry, and understanding tolerance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Experience in design is a must.

Physical Requirement- This office position may require sitting for long periods of time.

Working Conditions- Travel to construction sites, job walks, factory conditions are to be expected.
