Job description

Job Description:

Develop detailed mechanical designs for HVAC equipment using AutoCAD Inventor. Select and place components to create a detailed 3D model to be cut fabricated and formed to provide a complete HVAC unit. Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design, route and size ductwork based on airflow provided airflow per room.

Job Duties:

  • Develop 3D model with detailed mechanical designs for HVAC equipment
  • Coordinate with and consult existing Designers to design, layout, and detail components and systems to resolve design or other problems
  • Review and incorporate redline
  • Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design, route and size ductwork based on airflow provided airflow per room
  • Create Bill of Materials for each project
  • Draw details of ductwork and ductwork accessories
  • Consult technical handbooks and tables while in design phase
  • Create and store drawings electronically using Vault
  • Prepare variations of design
  • Explain concepts to manufacturers and customers

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum experience includes 3 years in Engineering
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Inventor
  • Understand how HVAC equipment and components are assembled
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Read architectural, mechanical, and have a good understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems
  • Strong communication, Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Select compressors, coils, fans, etc. for HVAC equipment a plus
  • Available for travel less than 5%
