What Drives Success
The Lead Custom Product Designerย develops highly complex designs, utilizing CAD tools. The CAD designs require considerable judgment and initiative. Understands the implications of their work with manufacturing operations (tooling and fixture designs) along with product performance and makes recommendations for solutions.
- Prepares complex CAD models and detailed drawings of products from sketches, using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software tools while being viewed as an expert in the use of these tools.
- Develops design concepts for new component/system designs using CAD tools and provides solutions to improve the quality, fit and function of the product.
- Contributes to preparing drafting standards, design best practices and training materials.
- Additionally performs advanced modeling and detailing, assemblies, prepare Bill of Materials and execute Engineering Change orders.
- Mentors junior designers.
What We Are Looking For
- Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 8 years related experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Expert knowledge of CAD software techniques and tools.
- Expert knowledge of advanced CAD modeling techniques.
- Knowledge of design tools and standards involved in production of precision CAD models and drawings.
- Able to provide work leadership.
What We Offer
Compensation: This is a salaried non-exempt role. This means that employees are paid a salary and also receive overtime pay when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).ย The starting salary range for this role and market is between $101,000-$132,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Employees in this role are also eligible for aย bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company's applicable plan.
