Job Summary:
The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist at Van Chevrolet Cadillac Subaru in Kansas City, Missouri is a full-time, individual contributor role in the auto industry. The main responsibility of this position is to acquire new and used vehicles for our dealership through various channels including auctions, trade-ins, and private purchases. This is a sales job that requires strong negotiation skills and knowledge of the auto industry. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, and able to work well independently.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with auction companies, wholesalers, and private sellers to acquire new and used vehicles for the dealership
- Monitor inventory levels and identify any needs for specific vehicle models or makes
- Conduct thorough market research to determine fair market value and negotiate purchase prices
- Manage trade-in vehicles and ensure proper documentation is completed
- Inspect vehicles upon arrival and communicate any issues or concerns to management
- Create and maintain accurate records of vehicle acquisition and expenses
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure a seamless transition of the acquired vehicles into inventory
- Attend industry events and network with other dealerships to stay informed on market trends and inventory opportunities
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in sales or purchasing
- Proven track record of successful negotiation skills and achieving sales targets
- Strong understanding of the auto market and trends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well independently and manage time effectively
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends as needed
