What You'll Do

The Premium Receivable Representative is responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts in the Premium Receivables department. Primary responsibilities include billing; maintaining insured customer accounts, return premium disbursements and collections. This position is hybrid after an initial training period.

  • Process & review all daily billing statements and past-due notices for discrepancies prior to mailing.
  • Determine which accounts require a past due notice, pre-termination or cancellation by managing various queues in the Tropics cancellation management system.
  • Review various reports to ensure all accounts are being managed on a monthly basis in particular aged receivable & unapplied funds report.
  • Initiate outbound phone calling for accounts that are past due and prior to cancellation of coverage.
  • Manage inbound calls ensuring all issues are addressed regarding bills, balances, and the collection of past-due balances.
  • Manage the follow through process on promises to pay and pay arrangements with the Policyholder.
  • Initiate the cancellation process for non-payment situations for your assigned accounts.
  • Lead and process the department’s cash applications, statements and bank exceptions on a daily basis.
  • Process, analyze and distribute the Premium Receivables monthly department results such as the STAT 90, ACH on-line payments, department metrics and A/R vs. STAT 90.

We're looking for someone that has:

  • a minimum of an associate degree along with relevant work experience or a bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred,
  • the ability to work independently and organize and prioritize work,
  • exceptional communications skills,
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office products, most notably Excel,
  • and a strong attention to detail, along with problem solving and analytical skills.

Prior work in a call center and/or collections environment is preferred.

Pay Philosophy

The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors; including, but not limited to - qualifications, relevant education, certifications, experience, skills, performance, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future, but we in good faith believe this is what we would pay for this role as of the time of posting. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market for all employees in this position across our industry and provides an opportunity to progress and develop within the role.
