Business Intelligence Engineer

Summit Interconnect has a current open position for a Business Intelligence Engineer. Summit is a dynamic and innovative company committed to leveraging data-driven insights to optimize business processes and drive strategic decision-making. As a leader in our field, we are seeking a talented and motivated Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge projects.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, create project plans, and deliver scalable reporting and analytical solutions to guide Summit's operational and strategic decision-making processes. Your responsibilities will include managing data integrity, data flows, and reporting between the Summit Data Warehouse, CRM, ERP, reporting servers, and dashboards. Additionally, you will be responsible for designing and implementing all business intelligence initiatives, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data across all systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of our business and supporting informed decision-making at Summit Interconnect.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee deployment of data to the data warehouse. Develop datasets and processes that facilitate data modelling, mining and production.
• Ensure accuracy of all reported data by continually reviewing and analyzing current sources, processes, and systems functions.
• Provide clean, usable data and recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality. Perform data profiling to identify and understand anomalies. Investigating possible data issues, including identifying the root causes of issues and implementing solutions, working with other teams around the organization as necessary.
• Designing and managing the BI tools and applications environment. Implement new data analysis methodologies.
• Developing ETL pipelines for production. Design and develop reports using SQL Server Reporting Services and PowerBI.
• Coding, testing, and documenting data systems and processes.
• Create and maintain development documentation and reusable test cases.
• Taking complete responsibility for the build of reporting, including extracting appropriate data from our source systems, in line with data management processes, ensuring the report and its contents are fully documented.
• Train other data analytics team members on best practices and protocols
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of multiple databases, tools, metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, to drive key business decisions.
• Oversee and advise on complex data pipelines for software development initiatives and provide expertise as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, data science, management information systems (MIS), or a related field provides a strong foundation in programming, database management, data analysis, and information systems.
• Working knowledge of SQL (ability to write SQL queries and reports)
• Experience working with databases, ETL (extract, transform, load) pipelines, and data pipelines.
• Excellent data interpretation and management skills.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and reconcile data integrity issues.
• Experience in data visualization/reporting using MS Power BI
• Demonstrated technical experience in data mining and data analytics.
• Experience with Azure data services and cloud computing technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation/Benefits: Summit offers a variety of health and benefit programs. Which include Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA plans, Hospital and Accident plans, Life Insurance, PTO, and Paid Holidays. Benefits are effective 1st day of the month following date of hire.

Pay Range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000 annually.
