Your Mission
The Lead Business Intelligence Developer, Global Business Intelligence will support a broad array of business stakeholders and partner with technology leaders to support the development and deployment of LCE/IHI enterprise-wide business intelligence. The role will support the Manager of Business Intelligence in creating enterprise BI that enables executives, leaders, and operators to make data driven decisions. This position will be active in building a roadmap to drive the future state, as well as making that future state a reality. The company is clear and committed to the "what" - enabling data driven decisioning, as well as the "why" - to make a great company even better - and is looking to the Lead BI Developer, Global Business Intelligence to help shape the "how". This role will build on the existing foundation of Business Intelligence by increasing the focus on stakeholder engagement and the delivery of essential BI/KPIs and critical reporting. This role reports to the Manager, Global Business Intelligence, who is a member of the leadership team of the Global Data and Analytics COE.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Provide direction and act individually to engage business leaders, decision makers, systems and data owners, and end users to define BI goals, KPIs, success measures, and reporting requirements.

  • Provide direction and act individually to translate business goals, operational needs, and available data sources into scalable, actionable BI solutions.

  • Provide direction and act individually to design, develop, and deliver recurring and ad-hoc dashboards, reports, and analytics supporting enterprise and business unit goals.

  • Partner with Data Engineering to ensure BI solutions are efficient, reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-effective, building out the BI suite over time.

  • Mentor BI developers in analytics practices, BI technologies, Agile delivery, estimation, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Develop strategies to educate business users on how to effectively use recurring BI reports and dashboards.

  • Lead discussion and prioritization of BI requests within assigned business units and manage ongoing stakeholder relationships.

  • Act as a BI thought leader, continuously improving business intelligence and analytics capabilities across the enterprise.

  • Responsible for the individual delivery of large, complex system components. Lead Medium-sized projects (up to 52 FTE weeks) being responsible for technical quality, on-time delivery and performance of other technical resources on the project.

  • Lead other developers in creating BI deliverables using formal software development methodologies such as Agile, including leading estimation, planning sessions, and project kick-offs.

  • Provide technical leadership on the delivery of large, complex system components and lead medium-sized projects, ensuring technical quality, on-time delivery, and performance of assigned technical resources.

  • Support Quality Assurance (QA) in the development of integration test plans, test conditions, expected results, and automated testing.

  • Lead research and identification of root causes for system issues and provide recommendations, including evaluation of alternatives and participation in vendor selection processes.

  • Mentor others and implement best practices on technical tasks which support the overall BI development team.

  • Lead the design and architecture of medium-sized software projects with a focus on stability, scalability, security, and maintainability.

  • Provide support for production BI applications, including on-call after-hours support on a rotational basis, and maintain support documentation.

  • May manage a team of more junior developers, including day-to-day management, performance reviews, regular one-on-one sessions, and career development mentoring.

  • Apply a strong understanding of business operations, strategy, and enterprise data to inform BI solutions.

  • Partner across teams to align BI delivery with enterprise data strategy and governance standards.

  • Operate effectively in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and evolving business needs.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Model strong professional judgment, accountability, and ownership of outcomes.

  • Ensure adherence to best practices related to data privacy, data security, and governance.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of enterprise data strategy, BI infrastructure, and analytics platforms.

Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, engineering, or a related field.

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience developing data-driven KPIs, business intelligence, and analytics within mid-sized or large organizations.

  • Advanced experience designing enterprise-scale BI dashboards (e.g., Power BI or similar platforms) incorporating advanced functionality and UX/UI.

  • Advanced SQL skills to extract, analyze, and manage large datasets for BI, analytics, and ad-hoc reporting.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering production-ready BI solutions.

  • Demonstrated capability to engage and partner with leaders to understand business challenges and address them through BI and analytics.

  • Experience supporting BI or analytics in large consumer-facing industries such as automotive, retail, or quick service restaurants (QSR).

Working Conditions
  • This position requires on-call responsibilities, including nights, weekends, or holidays.

  • Primarily office-based role involving extended periods of sitting, virtual meetings, and computer-based work.
