Project Manufacturing Engineer

Our partner is a global manufacturer of large industrial and consumer products. For 70+ years they have been transformed from a small manufacturing job shop into a market-changing powerhouse recognized around the world. We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Project Engineer to lead a team focusing on implementing smart tools bringing their assembly processes into Industry 4.0. This will be located in central Iowa.

Duties:

• Direct a team of engineers and technicians focused on process improvement for assembly lines
• Lead process improvement projects on value-stream lines with a strong focus on implementation of smart tools. Some projects as large as $500K
• Lead and develop engineering team to support the successful execution and implementation of JIT, new product releases and enhancements, capital improvements, and timely project completion
• Ensure project goals are met such as test plans, production preparation plans, and product performance plans, financial plans, and capital plans
• Support company-wide Lean Manufacturing programs
• Collaborate with teams from Product Engineering, Sales, Service, Procurement, HR, and Finance

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, Engineering preferred
• 5+ years of engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing assembly setting. Ideally some experience as a Leader, Supervisor, or Manager.
• Experience with Lean, Kaizen, Value Stream, and Six Sigma preferred
• Prior experience with capital equipment project work; an understanding of capacity, capital acquisition, financial statements, budgeting, strategic planning processes, etc.
• Experience in any of the following helpful: smart tools, Industry 4.0 tools, factory automation, robots, cobots, IIoT, CPS, Atlas Copco, etc.
