Job Title: Coordinator for Adult Clinical Services

Department: Adult Clinical Services

Reports To: Director of Adult Clinical Services

FLSA Status: Salaried - Exempt

Job Summary: The Coordinator for Adult Clinical Services works under the direct supervision of the Director of Adult Clinical Services and has direct supervision over assigned Work Instructors. The position initiates and maintains the referral/intake/admissions process, assists guardians with the admissions and service process, insures that Medicaid eligibility of all consumers are kept current, assists in the creation of accurate and admissions records, develops consumer service plans, assists with the establishment and maintenance of all consumer files.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Serve on Inter-disciplinary Admission Committee
  • Assist in completion of admission forms
  • Assist in initial program and establishment of goals
  • Counsels consumer(s) individually, with family, or in other small groups regarding plans for meeting needs, and aids consumers to utilizing environmental resources to improve social functioning.
  • Helps consumers modify attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing understanding of self, personal problems, and consumer's part in creating them.
  • Maintains records and prepares reports, such as: initial application, permission forms, staffing reports, progress reports, quarterly reports, behavior incident reports, medical information, etc.
  • Reviews plan and performs follow-up to determine quantity and quality of service provided to consumer(s).
  • Secures supplementary information such as employment, medical records, or school reports.
  • Provides quality services to consumers in both the facility and community settings.
  • Supervises assigned Work Instructors


Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises a minimum of five assigned Work Instructors in the Adult Clinical Services department at Lacy Landers Skills Learning Center. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Confidentiality - All employees of AEDD have a legal and ethical responsibility to maintain consumer privacy, including obligations to protect the confidentiality of Consumer Information and other Confidential Information such as financial data and operational information pertaining to the organization. Unauthorized release of information such as information regarding staff, consumers or internal business of AEDD constitutes breach of confidentiality. This includes release to other consumers, other staff, family member, or members of the public.

Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; and uses equipment and materials properly. Employees may not talk on a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle while on company business unless it is safe to do so. Hands free should be used at all times if available. Texting or emailing (reading or writing) while driving is not allowed.

Attendance/Punctuality - Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; and arrives at meetings and appointments on time.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma and/or two years of experience in the Human Services field preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR/First Aid, Arkansas Driver's License, Auto Liability Insurance

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.

Safety Sensitive Position: The Coordinator for Adult Clinical Services is a safety sensitive position as it involves operating a motor vehicle as part of the job duties and a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death to the consumers being transported. See Ark. Const. Amend. 98 § 2(25). All positions classified as safety must refrain from reporting to work or being subject to duty while their ability to perform job duties is impaired due to the use of alcohol or other drugs. All positions classified as safety sensitive are prohibited from testing positive for metabolites of substances that are listed in the schedules of the Federal Controlled Substances Act and the Arkansas Uniform Controlled Substances Act, regardless of whether the employee possesses a medical marijuana registry identification card. See id. at § 3(f)(3)(B)(iii). This policy applies during all work hours, whenever conducting business for AEDD.

The Coordinator for Adult Clinical Services must refrain from reporting to work or being subject to duty while their ability to perform job duties is impaired due to the use of alcohol or other drugs. All Coordinator for Adult Clinical Services are prohibited from testing positive for metabolites of substances that are listed in the schedules of the Federal Controlled Substances Act and the Arkansas Uniform Controlled Substances Act, regardless of whether the employee possesses a medical marijuana registry identification card.
