Young Adults Director First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs

First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs is seeking a passionate and relational leader to serve as our Young Adults Director, helping guide and disciple the next generation of believers as they grow in their faith and find their place in the life of the church.

This role is an exciting opportunity to shape a thriving ministry for young adults ages 18–30 in one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. The Young Adults Director will provide vision, leadership, and spiritual direction for a ministry that helps young adults discover community, deepen their faith, and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

At First Pres, our mission is Light and Life for the City, and this position plays a vital role in reaching and equipping young adults in Colorado Springs to live out the Gospel in their daily lives.

Qualifications

The Young Adults Director will lead and develop a vibrant ministry that connects young adults to Christ, community, and the broader life of the church. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide vision and leadership for ministry to young adults ages 18–30.
  • Plan and lead gatherings, Bible studies, retreats, and events that foster spiritual growth and authentic community.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteer leaders who invest in the lives of young adults.
  • Build meaningful relationships with college students and young professionals in the Colorado Springs community.
  • Help young adults connect deeply to First Pres, grow in their faith, and transition into long-term engagement in the church.
  • Partner with Family Ministries staff to support healthy transitions from high school through young adulthood.
  • Develop outreach strategies to connect with young adults moving to or living in Colorado Springs.
  • Partner with the Communications Team to maintain strong communication and social media engagement with the young adult community.
  • Serve as a welcoming point of connection for young adults exploring First Pres.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (related field preferred)
  • Minimum two years of experience leading ministry with adolescents or young adults
  • Demonstrated experience discipling individuals and shepherding groups
  • Experience recruiting, developing, and leading volunteer teams
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

The Young Adults Director must:

  • Have a personal and growing commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  • Support the mission and theological commitments of First Presbyterian Church and the ECO denomination
  • Be an active participant in First Pres or another local church aligned with our mission and values
  • Demonstrate integrity, humility, and a heart for serving others
