Travel Insurance Claims Team Lead
Location: Remote
Position Type: Full-Time, W-2
Schedule: Availability to work weekends as needed
Position Summary
Administrative Strategies is seeking an experienced and motivated Travel Insurance Claims Team Lead to oversee a team of claims professionals while managing complex travel insurance claims. This leadership position serves as a key liaison between our organization and our clients, ensuring high-quality claims handling, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in travel insurance claims, proven leadership experience, and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Travel Insurance Claims Adjusters.
  • Monitor team productivity, quality, service levels, and compliance with established processes and procedures.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and training initiatives to support employee growth and success.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex claims and claim-related decisions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while acting as the primary liaison for operational discussions, issue resolution, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal leadership to identify process improvements and ensure service expectations are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable insurance regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Review and assist with adjudication of Trip Cancellation, Travel Medical, and Post Departure benefit claims.
  • Research and verify policy coverage and claim eligibility.
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims.
  • Review claim reports and decision letters for accuracy, consistency, and proper policy interpretation.
  • Communicate claim decisions and coverage determinations with insureds, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with travel suppliers, travel agencies, medical providers, insurance carriers, and other business partners.
  • Take ownership of team performance, operational results, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of travel insurance claims experience, including:
    • Trip Cancellation claims
    • Travel Medical claims
    • Travel protection products
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
  • Active P amp;C Claims Adjuster License.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in a production-based environment with quality and performance metrics.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively leads a remote team.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Preferred
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
  • Reciprocal adjuster licenses in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Professional designations such as AIC, CPCU, or similar industry certifications.
  • Client-facing account management or client liaison experience.
