Job Description

Who we need:  Laser Technology is a world leader in providing handheld Laser Rangefinders supporting many applications throughout the world.  We are looking for an experienced Small Device, Electro-Mechanical Service Technician to join our Service Department.  The Primary purpose of this Centennial, CO based position is to test and troubleshoot our customer’s Laser Rangefinder devices, determining the extent of repair needed, and perform necessary repairs and recalibration.   Experience working on small electro/mechanical devices is desired and includes repetitive assembly tasks, understanding wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings, and use of sophisticated calibration equipment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES 

  • Evaluate, Quote and Repair unit’s that come into LTI service department.
  • Problem solving using base knowledge of small electro/mechanical equipment, trouble shooting skills, technical publications, work instructions, drawing and circuit diagrams.
  • Calibrate and align the equipment with precision instruments to bring products within manufacturing specifications.
  • Create trouble reports / estimated for repair of customer’s equipment.
  • Completion of unit documentation in various ERP and Digital Documentation locations.
  • Maintain a serial number history database with clear and concise notes.
  • Occasionally provide technical support via phone or e-mail to domestic and international customers.
  • Help update and maintain appropriate repair related documentation as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager. 

REQUIREMENTS  

  • 3 years' experience in small electro-mechanical repairs and troubleshooting in a ESD safe environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle various small hand tools. Must be able to use a microscope and multimeter. Ability to identify root case of assembly related discrepancies/ issues.
  • Must be familiar with reading and interpreting electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor as well as part of a team is a must.
  • Proficiency in MS Office needed.
  • Must be able to support overtime as required. 
  • Soldering and oscilloscope experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Have good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Lifting required and moving up to 30 pounds.   
  • Sitting or standing in place for extended periods of time while performing specific tasks. 
  • Work with small hand tools repetitively. 
  • Must be willing to work outside for short periods of time.

This full-time exempt position is eligible for all LTI benefits including employer paid medical, life, and disability. AS well as dental, vision, 401k with a match, and more. The pay for this position has a minimum of $20.00 per hour. The actual pay rate offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
