PAYROLL SPECIALIST

DUTIES: Perform accounting support tasks, including invoicing and payroll, and provide support to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and human resources. Use financial system(s) to create complex project invoices in accordance with company standards and policies. Invoice timely and accurately within specified contract and/or company requirements. Analyze, audit, reconcile, and resolve complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing. Ensure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state, and IRS regulations. Ensure W-2, W-4, 1095, and other forms are processed accurately as required. Provide inputs for auditing and regulatory inquiries. May work with system programmers to achieve solutions or administer company payroll system with outside service provider. Reconcile benefit costs ensuring accurate accounting of amounts processed in payroll and required by providers. Support internal, external, and government audits. Provide data and ensure reporting is accurate and complete for various reports such as affirmative action, veterans, EEO, and others as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skilled in communicating professionally in all platforms (phone, email, video calls, etc.) Knowledge of government accounting, FAR, AMS, T&M, Labor Hour, Cost Reimbursable, Cost Plus and Fixed Price invoicing requirements. Ability to use Excel on an intermediate to advanced level. Must be able to work independently and with a team to meet objectives.
SKILLS: Associate degree in related field from an accredited college or university OR equivalent experience is required. Five (5) years’ experience performing accounts receivable, invoicing, payroll and proficient MS Office skills are required. Experience using Deltek Costpoint and ADP processing is highly desired.
Must demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to work independently or under general direction. Specialized knowledge of Federal Government systems, procedures, and operations is desired.
