Job Description

The Company:

The Innovation Center by Viable Engineering Solutions is a world-class concept-to-completion center for the industrial market. We take Research and Development to the next level by providing complete all-in-one fast prototyping and non-destructive testing solutions in our state-of-the-art concept-to-completion facility. The Innovation Center is located in Orlando in the heart of the Central Florida Research Park right next to the University of Central Florida.

The Position:

We are currently seeking a new team member to join our Hospitality department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations of the hospitality department while ensuring a stellar customer experience is delivered to all guests. Customer service, supervisory experience, and execution are the key aspects of this role. You will be responsible for delivering the best-in-class dining experience to all guests. Outstanding time management, excellent attention to detail and follow-through is also a must for this role.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manages day-to-day operations of Hospitality Department
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff
  • Schedule and assign tasks to ensure efficient operation
  • Create and manage employee schedules
  • Coordinate shifts to satisfy client requests
  • Hold recurring 1:1 meetings with all team members to review goal progress and performance
  • Ensures all department employee’s timesheets are accurate and approves all timesheets by the deadline each payroll cycle
  • Train new employees on restaurant policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Address performance issues and implement corrective actions
  • Address and resolve day-to-day operational challenges promptly
  • Implement solutions to improve efficiency and customer experience
  • Enforce company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Oversee inventory levels and order supplies as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Warmly welcome guests. Provide exceptional customer service by being attentive, polite, and responsive to guest needs
  • Prepare and serve lunches to guests and/or meeting attendees
  • Ensure that all facilities are kept clean and presentable
  • Arrange tables/counters with food, beverages, and service items
  • Monitor and maintain all working area conditions and equipment to ensure they are within corporate standards for cleanliness, proper cleanliness, and safety
  • Bring creative ideas and suggestions to the table
  • Ability to work in a fast and slow-paced environment
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to different working environments
  • Provide excellent guest service by addressing any concerns or special requests
  • Uphold operating procedures and service and safety standards, especially Guest Satisfaction
  • Provide clear communications within the team that are aligned with the business objectives and the Innovation Centers event strategy
  • Follow all internal processes and policies; and use internal technology systems effectively
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback
  • Implement improvements based on feedback received

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Dependable and reliable with attendance, punctuality, meeting deadlines and completing tasks
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule around customers’ needs. Must be able to work on-site at our facility until 5pm M-F. Start and end times will vary depending on events and customer's needs. Must be able to work OT during heavy weeks with events. Very few weekends required.

Education and Experience:

  • Completed customer service or hospitality training program preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proven experience with managing and training staff
  • Experience with food Safety Policy Procedure is preferred
  • FL Food Safety Certified is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time including bending and stooping
