Job Description

Cardinal Staffing Services, is immediately hiring Forklift Operators for a large, well-known client in Detroit, MI. As a Forklift Operator, you will be an essential part of our client’s core operations, ensuring that quality product is received, processed, and delivered in a timely manner according to client expectations.

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of receiving, moving, locating, relocating, and shipping merchandise. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, make safety a priority, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

Cardinal Staffing Services, is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation $17.00 as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire.

Available shifts include 1st Shift 7:00am- 3:30pm. Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Responsibilities of the Forklift Operator:

Ensure all environmental and safety procedures are followed and report all unsafe or non-compliant issues.
Move safe and appropriately throughout a gravel covered yard without damaging material.
Place spacers on the ground and between bundles as required.
Attend all training sessions and safety meetings.
Maintain Daily Forklift Operators Checklist.
Other duties as directed.

Required Qualifications of the Forklift Operator:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) recommended.
Ability to learn and obtain a forklift operating permit.
Prefer someone who has experience with a large industrial type forklift
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Have advanced math skills
Ability to demonstrate behaviors conforming to Hoover’s set of values and accepted standards.
