Description - (Describe the purpose of the position and provide a high-level overview of the key activities of the role.

The Manufacturing/Installations Specialist is tasked with the assembly, testing and installation of Akesis products. This position requires the Specialist to work at the Akesis factory as well as travel both domestically and internationally to install the products at the customer’s site.

Essential Duties - (Using e.g., bullet points, identify the detailed aspects and specific responsibilities of the role.

  • Install, without supervision, all Akesis products to the required specification and quality within the scheduled project time.
  • Perform assembly, testing and calibration activities of Akesis products at the Akesis factory and Installation, testing and calibration of the products at the customer’s site. (LINAC experience is a plus)
  • Works with mechanical and electrical environments as well as databases, software, networking, and software applications.
  • Frequent travel (up to 50% or more) domestically or internationally required for system installation at the customer site.
  • Read and understand written Procedures/Work instructions, blueprints/schematics, and Product Planning Guides (PPG’s) and other written documentation.
  • Ability to assemble and electrically connect equipment including computers and networking using drawings and written instructions.
  • Successful history of working in teams and a team environment
  • Required to keep current on Akesis product knowledge, safety and quality requirements through internal and external training and certification.
  • Attend planning meetings/calls as required.
  • Collect, record, and transcribe data to meet Akesis’ quality standards.
  • Complete required documentation in a timely manner including timesheets, expense reports, routers, installation reports, etc.
  • To provide feedback to the Supply Chain Manager regarding any opportunities, issues, or solutions that may need to be communicated to other parts of Akesis.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism and safety both within the factory and at the customer site.
  • Maintain tooling and equipment.
  • Identify non-conforming products and processes and document these in the quality system.
  • Work with Process Engineers to correct non-conformances where instructed to do so.
  • Responsible for timely delivery of products in a condition that meets and/or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Provide project updates on scope and schedule.
  • Advise/mentor less experienced teammates in technical matters.
  • May occasionally be sent on service calls as required.
  • Represent Akesis in a positive manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Relationships - (Using e.g., bullet points, identify the functions/positions that the employee will interact with to carry out their essential duties).

· The Manufacturing/Installations Specialist will work directly with the Supply Chain Manager and the Manufacturing/Installations Specialist team.

· The Manufacturing/Installations Specialist will work internally with most of the company personnel to ensure production order fulfilment and ultimately installation at the customer site.

· The Manufacturing/Installations Specialist will interact with the Akesis project manager(s) and customer representatives at the customer site.

· The Manufacturing/Installations Specialist establishes good working relationships with co-workers through daily communications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

· Electromechanical Technician certificate OR Electro-Mechanical Engineering Associate degree or equivalent

· 3+ years of experience in the electromechanical field, capital equipment assembly/wiring/installation or in a related area

· Familiar with a variety of electrical and mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures

· Performs a variety of complicated tasks.

· Ability to read and interpret written instructions including but not limited to Work Instructions, schematics, wire lists, etc.

· Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software

· Networking

Travel: Must be able to travel up to 50% or more of the time.

 

EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE OPERATION

May operate any/all of the following equipment:

  • Lifting equipment (forklift, crane/hoist, multi-tons, pallet jacks, etc.)
  • Basic hand tools
  • Calibrated tools (DVM, torque wrenches, oscilloscope, calipers, etc.)
  • Beam scanning equipment
  • Computer, printer, and related equipment
  • Packaging equipment
  • Calculator

Computer software may include any or all of the following:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Internet Explorer

· Akesis specific software
