Job Description

We are seeking an Outreach & Enrollment Specialist to become an integral part of our team! You will work closely with the Community Outreach Manager to provide outreach opportunities for community residents including Broward Community & Family Health Centers (BCOM) patients who lack access to healthcare and health insurance. In addition, he/she will provide enrollment and application follow-up assistance and build and strengthen enrollment collaborations with local partner organizations.

Responsibilities:

Respond to incoming requests for assistance regarding the application and enrollment process with marketplace exchange plans including Medicaid.
Assist with the implementation and coordination of outreach & enrollment activities such as hosting enrollment events, during, before or after normal business hours and weekends.
Participate in required state and federal trainings related to the Marketplace Exchanges
Accurately input data collection and complete enrollment process for applicable insurance plans
Conduct in- reach and enrollment with existing uninsured BCOM patients.
Follow up with potential enrollees and applicants to ensure program enrollment.
Develop and establish relationships with appropriate community partners
Provide educational materials regarding insurance options to community partners including health departments, hospitals, urgent cares, physician’s offices, and human services agencies and collaborate and coordinate outreach efforts with them
Work with and support other project staff to maintain secure and accurate program records and track activities consistent with project goals
Assists in the development of outreach planning and marketing strategies
Participates in continuing education and in-service training
Other duties assigned by the Community Outreach Manager

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
At least one year of community-based outreach experience preferred
Friendly out-going personality which shows compassion and dedication to helping others
Ability to work effectively with underserved and diverse populations
Experience in planning and implementing projects and coordination of functions and setting goals and meeting timelines promptly
Tact and patient in dealing with the public
Able to work accurately, independently and as part of a team
Must be able and willing to travel as needed, have dependable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of automobile insurance
Strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Creole)
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
Ability to work flexible hours
