Production Supervisor

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

The Company: Family-owned Food manufacturing facility located on the outskirts of Memphis that provides breaders, batters and seasonings for both retail and food service. We are focused on continuous growth within our operations, development of our employees and exceeding customer expectations.

Role: Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Supervisor becomes important liaison between the plant workers and production management. This role helps ensure company food safety and quality standards are met by ensuring continuous implementation of SQF/GFSI standard by coordinating with cross functional departments. Preferred individual is expected to provide solid supervision within the Production department to achieve the departmental and organizational goals.

Essential Duties:

•          Supervise and support the Production team with daily tasks.

•          Monitor all aspects of production for compliance to GMP’s and

Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)

•          Assist in implementing HACCP Food Safety plan.

•          Enforce all food safety and food quality policies and procedures.

•          Inform the Plant Manager of any out-of-spec situations.

•          Manage setup and running of packaging machines

•          Other duties as assigned.

As Needed:

     •        Serves as backup in absence of other supervisors or plant manager.

•          Follows policies and procedures and use equipment and materials appropriately.

•          Able to make sound decisions based on specifications, procedures and experience.

•          Writes and speaks clearly and informatively. Able to read and interpret written information.

•          Displays good interpersonal skills and is self-motivated. Able to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Requirements:

     •        At least 2 years of prior experience working in a supervisory role in food manufacturing or very closely related field.

•          Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

•          Ability to work long duration continuously while being on feet standing.

•          Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.

•          Team work and interpersonal skills.

•          Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

•          Excellent time management and task prioritization abilities.

•          Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.

•          Excellent problem-solving skills.

Hours: Monday-Friday 6am-5pm Friday usually

Relocation: Negotiable; but candidate with ties to geographic location will be given strong preference.
