Position Overview:

As the Senior Mechanical Engineer and Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design and implementation of mechanical and HVAC systems for a variety of projects across different sectors. In addition to technical expertise, this position requires strong leadership and project management skills to effectively lead a team of designers, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget. Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering with a focus on HVAC or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in HVAC design, with a proven track record of successfully leading teams and managing projects of varying scope and complexity.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., IESVE, Trane Trace), AutoCAD, and Revit.


Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and mentor a team of engineers and HVAC designers, providing technical guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to foster growth and excellence within the team.
  2. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders, managing relationships, addressing concerns, and ensuring alignment with project objectives and expectations.
  3. Oversee the design, analysis, and optimization of HVAC and plumbing systems for various building types, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, and electrical engineers, to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into building designs and coordinate design efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Develop project proposals, scopes of work, and budgets, and monitor project progress, resource allocation, and financial performance to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  6. Conduct technical reviews, quality assurance checks, and risk assessments to identify potential issues, mitigate risks, and ensure the overall quality and integrity of design deliverables.
  7. Provide leadership in the adoption and implementation of innovative technologies, methodologies, and sustainable design practices to enhance project outcomes and stay ahead of industry trends.
  8. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering design team, promoting knowledge sharing, cross-training, and professional development initiatives.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Deep understanding of HVAC engineering principles, codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends in HVAC engineering,
