Delta Western was formed in 1984 to provide fuel for ships, planes, and vehicles along the Western Alaska coastline and Yukon River with a fueling station in Dutch Harbor. It was welcomed into the Saltchuk family of companies in 2000, marking Saltchuk’s entry into petroleum distribution. Today, Delta Western is one of Alaska’s leading independent distributors of petroleum products and lubricants, with fuel terminals in Western and Southeast Alaska. Delta Western delivers an average of 200 million gallons of fuel annually in Alaska and employs approximately 150 people.

Delta Western can source and acquire fuel into our system by improving relationships with fuel importers into Alaska on an emergency notice if needed. Provides friendly and personalized full-service fuel service to Delta Western Station customers and supports Delta Western operations duties as advised.

Dock duties:

• Greet customers. Provides fuel to fishing customers, ensuring safe fueling of the vessels
• Completes purchase order requests and delivers to warehouse administrator. Delivers prepared packaged products and oil lubes to customers.
• Deploys boom in the event of a fuel spill.
• Completes meter sheets and invoices and submits them to the office in a timely manner.
• Maintains dock and yard cleanliness, including strapping drums, cleaning drip pans, burning sorbents, and used filters, banding pallets of drums, stacking employ pallets, and disposing of garbage.
• Checks hoses and equipment daily for damage.

• Safely delivers fuel to home heating customers, Power House, and other customers timely. Completes invoices and reports daily. Report any conditions that may make the delivery unsafe to the Foreperson, Lead, or Manager.

• Take pride in ensuring that our trucks and facilities always look their best by cleaning and maintaining them regularly.
• Streamline the credit application process by promptly submitting received applications to our office for review.
• Prioritize safety by actively participating in safety meetings, reporting all incidents such as injuries, spills, and property damage, and identifying and presenting any potential job hazards. Your keen attention to detail will help keep the team safe and productive.
