Description:
The Electrical Engineer II will engage in a broad range of electrical engineering research, development, and support as a member of a diverse, cross-functional team. They will expand their skillset as they gain experience developing next generation satellite electronics as part of our world class electrical engineering team
Required Skills:
- BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering
- 4+ years of hardware design experience. Advanced academic degrees, internship or research experience may count toward the required experience
- Strong ability to communicate with other engineers, management, and external customers over both written and verbal communication channels.
- Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of electrical engineering.
- Familiarity with at least one schematic capture/layout tool and at least one spice-based simulation tool.
- Expertise in one or more technical areas: power electronics/power conversion, analog design, sensors design and interface, electromechanical systems, digital design, FPGA design, automated test development, EMI/EMC, PCB design/manufacture, or other relevant area.
- Experience designing for harsh or mission critical environments including one of aerospace, automotive, aviation, medical, or naval.
- Experience designing to industry standards (such as EMI/EMC)
Desired Skill Sets:
- Design electronics (schematic capture & PCB design) for complex space grade products
- Use a variety of tools to analyze and simulate electrical designs, selecting the best tool for the job as required.
- Some of the common tools we use are Altium Design, LTSpice, Siemens HyperLynx
- Work in a fast-paced team environment on both R&D and production projects. Complete tasks with evolving requirements.
- Demonstrate strong ownership of the design process and an ability to work primarily independently.
- Debug hardware in a laboratory environment with common lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Test, Software, and FPGA design teams and other specialized teams to develop high quality, reliable hardware for our customers.
Qualification:
4 or More years of experience.
