Position Summary:

Operating the pellet mills, flakers, grinder, hammer mills, legs, coolers, fans to provide a superior product for consumers. Moves, mixes, monitors, and distributes product to ensure proper consistency of each bag. Ensures and maintains proper function of all mill equipment to keep it running optimally.

Essential Functions:

• Maintaining sufficient levels of flaked and ground products.
• Notifying the mixer operator when mash bins are empty, and when mashes are needed above the pellet mills. Keeping the pellet mills running.
• Checking the thickness and moisture of the product coming off coolers; and making necessary adjustments (rolls, steam, and grid actuation.)
• Maintaining a high standard of quality and applying Agfinity’s patented guidelines to provide a superior product.
• Ensuring the best quality product is being made on pellet mills by adjusting steam, molasses, and speed for best quality.
• Cleaning the coolers and macs as needed to maintain optimal function.
• Greasing machinery on a regular basis.
• Checking the levels of flake and grind bins to determine what is needed.
• Cleaning the magnets on pellet mills, hammer mills, and grinder daily.
• Keeping work areas around machinery clean, including control panels and motors.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Weigh, measure, mix product to ensure proper consistency prior to bagging.
• Provide general upkeep to equipment to ensure optimal function.
• Must work closely with operations manager, mill lead operator, mill personnel, and quality control. Additional interactions with fleet manager, office personnel, and maintenance personnel.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

• Prior feed mill and/or livestock experience.
• Agriculture knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• On the job training provided as well as off site as available.
• Computer literacy with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Position completes both automated and manual manufacturing processes.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, lift and carry 50#, and wear necessary PPE.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring the manufacture of quality products routed to correct locations.
