Job Summary

The Feed Mill Driver/Delivery technician is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of finished feed to Sow farms, nurseries, and finishing sites. This position is critical to maintaining agricultural supply chains and ensuring operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include operating delivery vehicles, maintaining strict biosecurity standards, performing comprehensive vehicle inspections, and ensuring accurate delivery documentation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Safety & Biosecurity

  • Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and training requirements.
  • Deliver feed to designated farm locations strictly according to daily schedules and biosecurity protocols.
  • Follow all farm biosecurity protocols meticulously, including required truck washing, disinfecting, and downtime requirements.
  • Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment safety and compliance.
  • Comply fully with all company safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare policies.


Quality & Productivity

  • Load and unload feed using augers or other approved equipment while actively preventing contamination or cross-contamination of feed types.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, including feed tickets, mileage logs, regulatory reports, and electronic records.
  • Maintain the absolute cleanliness and sanitation of both truck interiors and exteriors.
  • Complete all work assignments with high attention to detail and accuracy.


Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with feed mill staff and farm personnel regarding delivery schedules, changes, or logistical issues.
  • Support coworkers and farm teams during peak workloads or time-sensitive operational periods.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, respect, and a positive attitude in all workplace interactions.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Clean driving record with a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred based on truck class).
  • Demonstrated comfort and skill driving safely in winter road conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to process protocols.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Frequent walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, and climbing up/down ladders or agricultural equipment.
  • Ability to use hands and basic tools for minor equipment adjustments or loading setup.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures, dust, mud, and adverse weather conditions.
