PIPESTONE - Helping Farmers
White, SD (Brookings Area)
PIPESTONE is growing, and we're looking for a Feed Mill Manager to lead daily operations at our White, SD feed mill. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys managing people, process, and production in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
Position Objective:
Lead and manage a motivated team of mill operators and drivers while efficiently operating and maintaining a feed mill. Serve as the main point of contact for day-to-day mill communication, oversee scheduling, inventory, and production, and ensure safe, accurate, and timely feed delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, schedule, and communicate with mill operators and drivers
  • Manage day-to-day feed mill operations and workflow
  • Schedule inbound and outbound loads of ingredients and finished feed
  • Manage inventory of micro and macro ingredients
  • Understand basics of nutrition, feed ingredients, and feed budgets
  • Ensure accuracy, batching integrity, and attention to detail
  • Utilize mill automation and feed ordering software
  • Work within Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Coordinate with feed mills, pig owners, and suppliers
  • Operate small equipment (forklift, skid loader, etc.)
  • Assist team members and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Support facility upgrades and oversee basic mill and site maintenance

Qualifications:
  • Background in agriculture, animal science, grain science, or management
  • Experience with feed milling, feed ingredients, livestock, or customer relations preferred
  • Strong communication and multi-tasking skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
