COMPANY DESCRIPTION Rancher Government Solutions (RGS) is specifically designed to address the unique security and operational needs of the U.S. Government and military as it relates to application modernization, containers, and Kubernetes. Rancher is a complete open-source software stack for teams adopting containers. It addresses the operations and security challenges of managing multiple Kubernetes clusters at scale, while providing DevOps teams with integrated tools for running containerized workloads. RGS supports all Rancher products with U.S. based American citizens with the highest security clearances who are currently supporting programs across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and civilian agencies. POSITION SUMMARY As an Associate DevSecOps Engineer at Rancher Government Solutions, you will be a strategic technical force responsible for delivering expert-level implementation within a team of engineers and architects. Driving mission success focused on the Rancher portfolio of products within the Federal Government. You will work directly with our cleared agency clients (TS//SCI with FSP), providing technical engineering support, architectural guidance, and hands-on keyboard engineering activity to ensure their complex container, CI/CD, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Kubernetes initiatives are successful. This role is instrumental in translating customer needs into robust, secure, and scalable production and mission environments. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Leadership & Architecture: * Act as a hands-on keyboard engineer for government agency customers, assisting in the deployment and maintenance of Rancher-based Kubernetes and Container solutions. * Provide foundational DevOps technical support and troubleshooting assistance for the Rancher product portfolio and complimentary open-source technologies. * Assist in the implementation of technical solutions and proof-of-concepts to solve customer problems while adhering to government security requirements. * Actively work toward maintaining a deep understanding of the Rancher portfolio and adjacent technologies like Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines. Consultative Engineering: * Collaborate with customers and senior team members to implement and operationalize Rancher solutions. * Assist in documenting customer feature requests and use cases to help internal teams understand client needs. * Support technical deep dives and workshops to help users understand the value of Rancher solutions. * Build professional technical relationships with customer stakeholders and partners. * Assist in Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines for the automated deployment of highly available, mission-critical systems and Rancher products across integration, test, and operational environments. * Assist in development of reusable scripts and templates to build rapid development and test systems, ensuring consistent and repeatable environments for rapid prototyping. Knowledge Sharing & Growth: * Contribute to the development of technical documentation, best practices, and knowledge sharing to support the wider RGS organization. * Participate in internal training and community engagement to stay current with industry trends. * Other duties as assigned. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree or 3+ years of professional or military experience * 1-3 years of experience in systems administration, software development, or a junior DevOps/SRE role focused on infrastructure. * Requires TS//SCI Clearance w/ Full Scope Polygraph PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Foundational knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and Linux administration. * Exposure to DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins), and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform). * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical tasks to cleared end-users. * Proactive, self-motivated learner with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities. #CJ
