Job description

Must Have Skills:
  • 5 years of professional experience in designing and maintaining Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Rancher for Kubernetes cluster management:
    • Ability to deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters using Rancher's platform.
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with VMware for managing machine stem cells or similar virtualization technologies
  • Experience working on complex projects:
    • Proven track record of deploying and maintaining mission-critical systems in dynamic environments.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Certification in Kubernetes administration (CKA, CKAD) or similar.
  • Experience with software-defined satellite technologies or telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools beyond Kubernetes (e.g., Docker Swarm, Apache Mesos).
  • Strong understanding of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system.

Day to day responsibilities:
  • Architect and implement scalable Kubernetes clusters to support containerized applications.
  • Define and manage Kubernetes resources including pods, services, deployments, and persistent volumes.
  • Configure and optimize RedHat Linux systems.
  • Administer RedHat Linux servers within Kubernetes environments, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Implement security measures and best practices for Linux-based Kubernetes deployments.
  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters using Rancher's platform, including provisioning and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues:
    • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to Kubernetes clusters, Linux servers, and associated infrastructure components.
    • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure system reliability.
  • Compensation 
    Hourly Rate Range - $40-$60/ hr
