Storage Engineer (HPE Alletra / HPE 3PAR)

Location: Spring, TX (Onsite)
Employment Type: Log-Term Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Storage Engineer with strong expertise in HPE Alletra, HPE 3PAR, and Nimble Storage platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting enterprise storage environments while ensuring high availability, performance, scalability, and business continuity.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience with SAN technologies, storage migrations, disaster recovery solutions, storage virtualization, and storage performance optimization within mission-critical enterprise environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Storage Technologies

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • HPE Alletra Storage
    • HPE 3PAR Storage
    • HPE Nimble Storage
  • Deep understanding of storage architecture, storage arrays, and enterprise storage concepts.
  • Experience with storage provisioning, allocation, deallocation, and capacity management.

  • Manage and maintain storage arrays, virtual volumes, host sets, and SAN infrastructure.
  • Perform storage migrations using Peer Motion, Online Import, and host-based migration tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex storage, SAN, performance, and multipathing issues.
  • Implement and support disaster recovery and replication solutions.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco and Brocade SAN fabrics.
  • Execute storage firmware, controller, and operating system upgrades.
  • Monitor storage environments using HPE InfoSight and SSMC.
  • Optimize storage performance through RAID tuning, tiering, and adaptive optimization.
  • Integrate storage platforms with virtualization and operating systems.
  • Collaborate with backup teams for enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, capacity assessments, and architecture recommendations.
  • Lead critical incident management and production outage resolution.
  • Automate repetitive storage administration tasks and operational procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and review technical implementation plans.
  • Participate in CAB meetings, customer reviews, and vendor discussions.
  • Support 24x7 mission-critical enterprise environments.

Experience Required

  • 7+ years of enterprise storage administration experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with HPE 3PAR and/or HPE Alletra environments.
