The Business Banking Officer works with new and existing business members by developing and adding value to their business relationship with the Credit Union. Under minimal supervision and in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures, the business banking officer will proactively interact with both internal and external members to identify sales opportunities, make referrals to appropriate sales partners including but not limited to internal team members and third party vendors. They are to meet or exceed established sales and service goals and standards based on Logix guidelines. Consistently provides "wow" level service to internal and external customers and demonstrates a positive attitude to build new and maintain existing relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Develops relationships with new and existing business members, brokers, and other referral sources for the purpose of increasing loan business.
  • Evaluates business member needs and offers the appropriate Credit Union products.
  • Achieves annual deposit, cash management and loan origination goals as established by Business Banking Services, Manager.
  • Travels to and works at assigned branches up to 5 days a week.
  • Works with assigned branch management and branch team members to source, secure, and acquire new business deposits deposit and lending relationships for the Credit Union.
  • Educates branch team members on Business Services products and services offering along with various Business Services processes.
  • Analyzes bank statement to identify a prospective business member's needs to effectively recommend products and services.
  • Cross-sells and refers other CU products as appropriate and introduces new borrowers to the Branch Sales Manager of the retail branch most convenient to the business member's business address for establishment to provide cross selling opportunity of LFCU products and services.
  • Responds to inquiries from various channels including but not limited to Synapsys Service Events, e-mail, phone, etc.
  • Conducts business place of observation (site visits) for both operations and sales activities.
  • Learns and maintains a thorough working knowledge and ensures adherence to all new and existing regulatory compliance, Credit Union policies and procedures, operation and program changes.
  • Attends and participates in meetings with both internal and external team members as required.
  • Consistently provides "wow" level service to internal and external customers.
  • Consistently demonstrates effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ensures all files and data input meet operational, compliance and regulatory guidelines.
  • Prepares all necessary correspondence including all business services documentation, disclosures, member correspondence, etc. if necessary.
  • Monitors individual pipeline of applications that are placed into processing while preparing and providing production and status reports and documents as required or requested by the Business Banking Services, Manager or the Vice President of Commercial Lending and Business Services.
  • Provides ad-hoc status written and/or verbal status reports on member interactions and overall deposit and lending pipeline of applications.
  • Assists with the evaluation of current application procedures and workflow changes and with the implementation of those changes as requested.
  • Assists borrowers with problems or questions regarding lending services.
  • Establishes a close working relationship with loan processors, underwriters and Business Services team members to ensure efficient flow of applications and member service.
  • Stays informed of competitor programs as well as external market trends relating to deposit and lending products and services.
  • Collaborates with other departments and vendor on the implementation of upgrades and/or changes to existing products and services line up.
  • Accommodates needs of business member and/or business borrower (i.e. meet at their business location, be available during weekends or evening, community events, etc.)
  • Attends public functions involving professional organizations and associations to promote Business Banking suite of products and services.
  • Participates in promotions, activities and other campaigns as requested.
  • Attends Logix sponsored community events and represents Logix Business Services by engaging with community organizations, prospective members and event attendees.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field is preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of business lending experience in a similar capacity.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability
  • A proven track record of successful loan sales production.
  • Self-starter who adapts well to a changing work environment.
  • Displays high level of flexibility and adaptability to support changing demands associated with job function.
  • Effective sales/marketing and customer services techniques along with excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze bank statements to identify a prospective business member's needs and recommend products and services.
  • A thorough understanding of cash management products.
  • Attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to actively listen, speak effectively and prioritize competing demands.
  • Ability to manage and maintain an effective and efficient workflow.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of office products including but to limited to Excel, Outlook, Word, One and Teams.
  • Valid CA driver's license.
