Location: Fernandina Beach, FL ( 50min Drive from Jacksonville FL)

The Role: General Responsibilities

As an Avionics Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of various systems on general aviation aircraft (singles, light twins, and corporate jets). You will play a key role in ensuring all work meets FAA standards and customer quality guarantees.

Key Duties:

  • Installation & Troubleshooting: Take avionics installs from start to finish on various general aviation systems.

  • Inspections: Perform 24-month IFR/VFR inspections and routine maintenance within estimated timeframes.

  • Software Updates: Interface with aircraft computers to perform critical software and database upgrades.

  • Compliance: Follow OEM installation manuals and Repair Station procedures to ensure 100% FAA compliance.

  • Repair Feasibility: Determine the best methods for repairing or replacing damaged components using manufacturer manuals and service bulletins.

  • Reporting: Maintain accurate work logs and provide daily End-of-Day (EOD) reports to the management team.


Qualifications & Requirements

We are seeking a motivated technician with a "quality-first" mindset. Only applicants with previous avionics installation and routine maintenance experience will be considered.

Required:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience as an Avionics Technician in general aviation.

  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with equipment such as Garmin, L3, Avidyne, Aspen, etc.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and OEM manuals.

  • Tools: Must possess your own tools and a personal toolbox.

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs; ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for long periods; comfortable working in environments with noise levels exceeding 85 dB (safety equipment provided).

  • Vetting: Job references are required and will be verified.

Preferred:

  • Licensure: Airframe or A&P license is a significant bonus but not required.

  • Specific Aircraft: Practical experience with Cessna, Piper, Beech, and Cirrus (piston and turbine) is highly preferred.

  • Maintenance: General aircraft maintenance experience is a plus.
