The Feed Mill Manager will ensure that all possible problems are identified and addressed in a timely fashion. The Feed Mill Manager works closely with the Assistant Manager and Feeding Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential
- Ensure that all commodities are hauled to the mill for the next day's feeding:
- Ensure routine and preventative maintenance is scheduled and performed
- Ensure critical parts are identified and on hand
- Operate processing equipment following set procedures to achieve quality control specifications for different commodities
- Ensure daily housekeeping duties are completed
- Maintain a schedule for all mill employees
- Supervise mill employees and set tasks & priorities for the day with follow-up
- Assist in Budget Development
- Ensure department is operating efficiently and within Budget
- Ensure employees are working safely following all safety protocols
- Handle all commodities following proper sanitary guidelines to maintain product integrity and quality
- Measuring commodities to ensure accurate inventory levels daily, weekly and monthly
- Communicate with Yard Manager and other Supervisors on production challenges or quality issues
- Consistent and accurate daily commodity samples
- Ensure inventory is on hand and accounted for properly
- Assist in high moisture corn pit fill up each fall
