Summary:

Join Putzmeister's exciting new business venture in 3D printing as an Applications Engineer and Field Service Manager. In this senior role, you will spearhead 3D printing operations, overseeing an extensive testing and launch phase. Your responsibilities include not only executing printing jobs but also serving as a key figure in training and empowering others in this cutting-edge technology.

As the Putzmeister Field Service Manager for 3D printing applications in the US, you will play a crucial role in establishing and nurturing business relationships, positioning Putzmeister as a provider of Premier Product Support. Your duties extend to maintaining regular communication and planning coordination with the international 3D printing business development team, ensuring the continuous growth of this innovative business and upholding our technological leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing 3D printing construction projects in the US by operating the machine & leading the onsite printing & construction team
  • Communication with customers and quality assurance in all stages of 3D construction projects
  • Responsible to test & evaluate new printing materials and machine features incl. documented feedback to the R&D team to shape our development roadmap
  • Support for KARLOS customers from the preliminary draft through detailed planning to construction site planning
  • Close coordination with counterparts and teams in Germany – initial training and Introduction to machine and job will be in Germany
  • Manage time and resources to provide timely & effective resolution of equipment problems/concerns in the field, sometimes in difficult situations.
  • Travel to customer locations, often on very short notice, to perform in-depth troubleshooting on electrical, software, hydraulic, mechanical, and interrelated problems.
  • Professionally communicate information concerning repairs, production issues, product quality, or customer-related issues.
  • Provide professional training on machine operation, troubleshooting, and repair techniques to future operations and customers in the field.
  • Perform repairs or trouble shooting as well as provide technical support to customers & partners via multiple channel paths (email, telephone, text, etc.).
  • Market / Support customers & partners for repair work and parts purchases
  • Aid in the evaluation and selection of potential business development partners
  • Keep abreast of industry technology and trends including concrete pumping applications/processes.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • 5-10 years of technical & practical experience in construction machinery
  • High willingness to travel for printing projects (>50%)
  • Self-motivated individual with a problem-solving mentality on the job site
  • Experiences with concrete material or robotics is a plus.

Education/Certification/Training:

  • Associate or BS degree in Engineering, Heavy Equipment Technology, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of mobile hydraulic, electrical, software, and mechanical systems.
  • Multi-lingual individual a plus (Spanish and/or German)
  • Construction or Concrete industry experience a plus
  • CDL is a plus
  • Mandatory safety training (see “Total Compliance Management” program).
  • On-the-job training.
