Qualified Forklift Operator to assist coordinating the day-to-day activities in the shipping and receiving offices, including providing customer service to the truck drivers. Strong organizational, teamwork, and self-starter skills will lead you to success in this role.

How You Will Contribute:

Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the Forklift. Ensuring work in progress (WIP) is undamaged, and the staging area is maintained organized. As well as consistently bringing correct size, board grade stacks to machine centers to be ran.

• Prior work experience as a forklift operator

• Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner.

• Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.

• Locate stock before the start of the run.

• Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.

• Remove finished goods from machines.

• Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.

• Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner

• Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.

• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.

• Adhere to daily production schedule.

• Assist other forklift operators as necessary and is backup to Shipping Lead Person.

• Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.

• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.

• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

What it takes:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry, preferred.

• Able to work Monday - Saturday

• Able to read, write, communicate efficiently and follow instructions on factory masters.

• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.

TECHNICAL SKILLS: The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

Product layouts and production specifications (Height, Width, Grade) Product quality specifications Intermediate/Advanced ability to utilize computer software such as: Microsoft Outlook, Printer, and a touch screen interface. Intermediate/Advanced knowledge utilizing a Forklift to stack, load, and unload corrugated boards of various weight and size.

** PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to sit for long periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to hot and/or humid as well as cold conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, louder than normal environments, and high paced atmosphere.
