Paralegal - Class Action Litigation

Fitzgerald Monroe Flynn PC is seeking a Paralegal to join our growing practice and provide legal support throughout the litigation process. This is a crucial on-site position that requires close coordination with attorneys, great attention to detail, and an interest in social justice.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Assisting attorneys in drafting and finalizing court and other legal documents
• Filing complaints, motions, and other documents in state and federal courts
• Preparing and delivering courtesy copies and manually filed legal documents
• Monitoring case dockets and calendaring case deadlines
• Organizing and maintaining legal files, documents, and databases
• Assisting with client and class member intake
• Organizing and assisting in document reviews, preparation for depositions, and other discovery
• Assisting with legal research, including cite checking authorities and proofreading legal briefs
• Assisting with pre-trial preparation, including drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits
• Researching pending litigation for intake of new cases
• Occasionally answering phone calls and directing inquiries to the appropriate person

Desired Experience

A few years of experience as a paralegal or otherwise in the legal field is preferred, but we are open to training emerging professionals or motivated recent graduates who may not have legal experience but are considering attending law school in the future. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Paralegal Certificate preferred but not required
• Valid Driver's License and standing

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual Salary of $50,000 to $60,000 depending on experience
• Health and dental; employer pays 50% of employee plans and 25% for dependents & spouses
• 401(k) with employer contribution
• Eligible to participate in additional Profit Sharing and Defined Benefit retirement plans
• Between 10 and 20 days (i.e., two and four weeks) paid vacation based on tenure
• Certain benefits subject to probationary period
