Ratings Analyst

Job Description: As a Ratings Analyst, you will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of various entities, including corporations, governments, and financial institutions, to determine their credit ratings. Your primary duties will involve conducting in-depth financial analysis, assessing risk factors, and preparing detailed reports to support your ratings recommendations. You will collaborate closely with other members of the ratings team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of ratings assigned to different entities. Additionally, you will monitor market trends and developments to provide timely updates and insights to clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, and other relevant data to assess credit risk.
• Conduct industry research and macroeconomic analysis to understand sector-specific risks.
• Utilize quantitative models and methodologies to assign credit ratings based on established criteria.
• Prepare comprehensive reports outlining the rationale behind rating decisions and key risk factors.
• Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to internal teams and external clients.
• Monitor rated entities for changes in creditworthiness and provide timely updates as necessary.
• Collaborate with colleagues to continuously refine rating methodologies and processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Knowledge of financial markets, credit risk analysis, and rating methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and statistical analysis tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Prior experience in credit analysis, investment banking, or financial research is desirable.
