Job Description

We are a mid-size plaintiff construction defect law firm protecting homeowners and building owners from faulty construction. We are looking for a friendly, hardworking, and competent Legal Secretary that will assist our Honolulu legal team (partners, attorneys, and paralegals) in all aspects of case management.

Typical responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

· Client contact requiring discretion and judgement.

· E-filing and e-service of legal documents

· Calendaring legal deadlines

· Proof reading and finalizing correspondence and filings.

· Entering attorney time records

· Managing a large volume of primarily electronic documents

· Document processing such as: copying, scanning, bates-stamping, and indexing.

· Electronically file documents into the firm’s document management system

· Answering phones and assisting with a wide variety of projects/assignments

· Working with other office staff in California

Expertise is required with office software such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom and Adobe. The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to prepare forms and correspondence. Excellent organizational skills and accuracy are required.

An experienced candidate (3-5 years) is preferred, preferably in a civil litigation environment. However, we are open to training a strong candidate with less experience if the candidate has relevant experience in a law firm.
