Maintenance and deployment of seismic in-sea equipment and the maintenance of back deck systems, working closely with other departments where required. Their role includes:
- Maintaining high pressure air systems with 2000-3000 psi working pressures
- Maintaining hydraulic and PLC control systems to pressures of 250 bar.
- Maintaining high pressure seismic energy source systems
- Fault-finding and operation of seismic source controller (electronics)
- Back deck vessel operations including deployment and recovery of in-sea equipment.
- Small boat operations 10km from vessel for in-sea maintenance
- Inventory control.
- Use of computerized planned maintenance system
Requirements
Engineering School; Technician Diploma: General mechanic - Hydraulic - Electro-mechanic, familiar with:
- Mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical equipment (up to 690 volts), Automats and Programmable Logic Controller.
- Electric motors (AC drive winch systems).
- Active heave compensated systems.
- Offshore Cranes and related LARS systems.
- Welding (aluminum, stainless steel).
- Knowledge of Seismic operations.
- Familiar or conversant with Subsea systems and components to include ROV tooling and skids.
- Survey planning.
- Marine back deck operations, cranes, winches, lifting and towing appliances.
- Managing Maintenance/reporting systems.
- Spoken and Written English with the ability to document clear technical reports.
Or equivalent vocational or military background, including:
- Engineer
- Mechanic
- Artificer
- Ability to work abroad in an international environment and in challenging field conditions.
- Ability to work as a team player with a spirit of initiative and achievement orientation.
- Flexible attitude to new situations and requirements.
