SUMMARY:
Under the direction of an assigned site supervisor; the Assistant Site Supervisor is to oversee operations of the assigned WIC Center. Will do nutrition counseling for low and moderate—risk individuals on the program, as needed, and will focus on excellent customer relations and services, This position is approximately 40% administrative and 60% direct client service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the responsibility of overall direction of the site, including, appointment scheduling, enrollments, certification, nutritional screening, counseling, prescription issuance, verification of certification, disqualifications and authorization of WIC checks for participants on the program via the ISIS computer system.
- Assist with troubleshooting, as needed, for employee and participant problems and refers these problems to assigned Site Supervisor or the appropriate Coordinator for resolution.
- Perform "Food Prescription Exceptions" for participants in ISIS as needed.
- Works as a team with other site supervisors, upper management, and leads to ensure the smooth operation of WIC sites.
- Assist with overseeing site activities to meet the federal, state and local agency requirements with assistance from assigned Site Supervisor.
- Responsible for handling, documenting and alerting assigned site supervisors of any incidents or problems with employees, participants or the facility as it occurs.
- Ensure nutrition education group classes and cooking demonstrations are provided by the assigned staff, as scheduled.
- Ensures that all required clinic reports are done in a timely manner.
- Supervises, coaches, mentors, and counsels' employees.
- Assist in performance evaluation preparation.
- Attends meetings and trainings, as assigned.
- Assist with scheduling clinic site staff and meetings.
- Assists with training employees in the clinic & assist with conducting audits, as requested, for the WIC Department or Quality Improvement Program.
- Provides relief for other WIC clinic site supervisors, as scheduled.
- Ensuring ISIS procedures are followed so that the operation runs smoothly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent organizational, oral and written skills.
- Ability to work with the corporate office, WIC personnel and other program personnel.
- Must be ethnically sensitive to the staff and participant needs.
- Must have good computer skills; Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
- A valid California Driver' s License and own transportation with proof of automobile liability insurance before start of employment is required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years' experience as a INTC certified INNA or three (3) years administrative managerial experience.
- (2) years of college or associate degree desired.
- Nutrition and/or Management Experience.

All patients are subjected to COVID screening and are required to wear a mask when not receiving treatment. All staff members must be fully vaccinated.
