The Sinker EDM Machinist is responsible for operating Electrical Discharge Machines to shape dies, punches, and other components. This role also involves creating electrode sinkers, which are essential for the EDM process. The machinist will work with blueprints, CAD designs, and specifications to produce high-precision components with tight tolerances to produce tooling used in machines such as rotary presses.

Job Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate Sinker EDM equipment to shape dies, punches, and other components.
  
• Interpret blueprints, CAD designs, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  
• Create electrode sinkers using CNC programming and manual milling.
  
• Inspect and measure finished components to ensure they meet quality standards.
  
• Make necessary adjustments to the EDM machine to achieve precise measurements.
  
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on EDM equipment.
  
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize the machining process.
  

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical education or apprenticeship in machining is a plus.
  
• Proven experience as a Sinker EDM Machinist or similar role.
  
• Proficiency in operating EDM equipment and CNC and manual milling.
  
• Strong understanding of machining techniques, tooling, and materials.
  
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  
• Attention to detail and precision in work.
  
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing machining challenges.
  
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in machining.

Pay: The hourly range is between $30-36/hr based on your education, skills, and experience. 2nd shift offers a $3.00 shift differential!

Schedule: This position will be rotating shifts or steady 2nd shift. 1st shift is Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm and 2nd shift is Monday - Friday 3:00 pm -11:00 pm. 

Overtime and Saturdays may be required based on production levels.
